Is a deeper exploration of Japanese healing techniques, and the first three Reiki symbols and their mantras are given during to the participant . They are the Power symbol, the Mental/Emotional symbol and the Distant Healing symbol.

The Reiki symbols are keys that help to connect to your higher self energies. You can view them as push-buttons that help you to manifest your desire, since the symbols quickly connect the user to the universal life force (also known as ki, chi or prana). When a Reiki Master passes an attunement to a student, the energy of the symbol is impressed upon the student’s mind and opens the student’s energy bodies (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) to the metaphysical energies it represents.

When a Reiki practitioner then draws, thinks about or visualizes a symbol it will instantly connect to the energies it represents.

1st symbol: 

This is the Power Symbol. Reiki Energy will flow without it, but when you use it, it is believed that the energy increases significantly. It would be as if you had changed the bulb in a lamp from 50 watts to 500 watts. Use at the beginning of the healing session, and at any other time that additional power is needed. It is geared specifically for healing within the physical body.

2nd symbol:

This symbol is used for mental and emotional healing, protection, purification, clearing and balancing. It works with the cause of the disease, which is often hidden in the subconscious mind (the emotional body) and/or the conscious mind (the mental body). When the body manifests dis-ease, it is often attempting to deliver a message that there is something that needs tending, that needs attention within the mental or emotional patterns we carry.  The mental and emotional healing symbol balances the right and left brain. 

3rd symbol.

This symbol transmits Reiki energy across time and space.  Using this symbol you can send Reiki across the room, across town, to other parts of the country or anywhere in the world.  Distance is no barrier.  You can also use this symbol to bridge time.  You can send Reiki into the “future,” where it will store up like a battery, to access at the time you or others will be needing it.  Likewise, you can send Reiki into the “past,” to heal issues from earlier in this lifetime, or to past life issues that affect you or others now. 

Whenever we experience any emotion other than love, such as fear, feelings of hurt, blame, anger, co-dependency, it’s possible to heal their root cause using Reiki. These feelings might stem from past situations and experiences or even past lives. With distant healing we can send energy back in time for healing and this can have a hugely beneficial effect on how we feel in the present.

You can “program” healing for particular issues that you want to work on, e.g. self-confidence, physical health, clarity, finances, etc. so that you feel balanced, energized and confident throughout the day and you can send healing to future events such as interviews, family gatherings, potentially difficult meetings with people, building work, selling a house, surgical operations and hospital appointments, etc.

What is Reiki?

Reiki pronounced as Ray-Key, is a Japanese word given to an ancient healing system which was re-discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui, a theologist and a teacher in the 19 Century. Ki means life force energy and has various names like Chi in China, Prana in Sanskrit. This is present in all of existence and can be tapped to benefit all. This vibrational technique balances, harmonizes and restores our energy system by channelling energy through the energy centres in the palms of our hands.  It is a holistic therapy which addresses the body, mind and spirit. It is safe, simple and non-intrusive. It could be used anytime, anywhere and in any situation. Reiki works on animals, Plants and even non-living things. It works beyond thoughts, feelings, faith, believes and region. Disease or ill health is caused when there are blockages to the free flow of this energy. The key to health and well- being is when there is a free flow of ki – Universal life force energy in each part of animate or in-animate matter. Reiki teaches us to connect and channelize this life force energy from the universe to all parts of our own human energy field called Aura. In a Reiki class we learn to feel and sense this human energy field – Aura and to channelize ki -life force energy in the right way so that we can balance the Aura, that is, make the Aura at ease.(As opposed to Dis-ease).  Everyone can learn to channel this energy. Reiki dissolves and removes the blockages within the Aura, resulting in free-flow of energy. Reiki, thus helps us to heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually and empowers us to express and realize our true potential in this lifetime.

Why Learn Reiki?  
Reiki is a system of natural healing developed by Dr. Mikao Usui from Japan in 1922. It works with the Universal Life Force that keeps us alive and well. When it is blocked, we become ill. Choosing a Reiki Master  
1. Experience:  
There is no substitute for consistent, long-term experience when choosing a professional in any field. Always ask the Reiki Master how many years they have been practicing Reiki and how often they use it. Ask them how many healing sessions they have given, and how many Initiations they have given. Also, in accordance with the true Usui Reiki teachings, a Master-Teacher must give a minimum of 25 Initiations for Level I before proceeding to give any Level II Initiations. In addition, ask them if it is something they do part-time in addition to their regular work? Ask when they became certified.

Zaki has been practicing Reiki for over 26 years. In addition to teaching meditation, it is her full-time occupation. It is her life. She integrates it into everything she does. She has given over a thousand healings and several hundred Initiations in her lifetime. And in accordance with the true Usui Reiki teachings, she has given the prerequisite 25 Level I Initiations before she began giving any Level II Initiations. 

Zaki is the most sought after Reiki practitioner at the largest meditation resort in the world, in Pune India, where she goes every year for 4 months. 2. Training/Qualifications:  
Reiki training can vary widely. Ask the Reiki Master who they learned from, and what their teacher’s qualifications were. Ask them why they chose their teacher and how many attunements they received during the Initiation. Another point to consider is lineage; how close they are to the original source (Mikao Usui). The further away from the source, the more distorted the teachings can become. And always ask to see their certifications and what they do to learn more about Reiki.

Zaki travelled the world seeking out the best Reiki Masters to learn from; in India, Nepal, Tibet, & Singapore. And she is constantly learning more about Reiki all the time.

3. Inner Work: 

This is something that is often not even considered when selecting a Reiki Master-Teacher but is every bit as important as experience and training, maybe even more so. The more inner work a person does, the more they can become a clear channel for the Divine Energy to flow through them.

When a Master-Teacher gives you an attunement, they open your etheric channels and activate your energy centers. The degree to which your channels will be opened are directly dependent upon your willingness & desire and how opened the Master-Teacher’s channels are. If their channels are not open, then you will receive very little energy and your attunement will be ineffective, and ultimately your Reiki healings will be ineffective as well.

This is where inner work comes in; it clears the mental & emotional garbage, removes the blockages, and allows for a potent attunement. If you want to have a powerful Reiki Initiation, then you must seek out a clear channel. Always ask what kind of and how much inner work (both personal & spiritual growth) the Master-Teacher has done. And, what they do on a daily basis to prevent any backslide. Most importantly, feel the Master-Teacher’s energy. You will sense it when they’ve done their work by how open their heart is and how loving they are.

Zaki has done extensive inner work at the Osho Multiversity in Pune, India, totaling over 14,500 hours. She attended the Multiversity every year for at least 4 months a year for the past 23 years and also lived there for 3 ½ years. Work such as: releasing stuck emotions, discovering and changing beliefs, understanding personality & self, taking personal inventory, meditation, etc.

One such course, called The Mystic Rose, is perhaps one of the most difficult offered at the Multiversity. It involves 21 days of continuous work: 7 days of laughing, 7 days of crying, & 7 days of silence. Zaki has done this particular course 18 times! Zaki is also a Black Robe Therapist at the largest meditation resort in the world (Pune, India) where she helps others work through their issues as well. 4. Results:  
All the training & certifications in the world won’t amount to much if the Master-Teacher has not experienced some degree of real, tangible results in their practice. Ask the Master-Teacher about their experiences in using the Reiki energy. Ask for specific examples.

Zaki’s story is an interesting one. While in her twenties, she had an operation to remove her diseased left ovary. Years later, the other ovary also became diseased and the doctor recommended removing that one as well. During the first surgery there were severe complications, resulting in coma and a lengthy and painful recovery. She did not want to go through that again so she searched for alternatives. She went to India, where she learned about Reiki and used it on herself. She returned to Italy for her scheduled operation, but when the doctor checked the pre-op x-rays, he was stunned. Not only was the ovary healed, but the other one he removed years before had grown back!!

She has also helped heal others of many serious diseases, including cancer. One client had two brain tumors. He was scheduled for brain surgery to remove them. But after multiple Reiki sessions, the tumors disappeared and he cancelled the surgery. What Makes Zaki’s Initiations Unique?  
In accordance with the true, traditional way of Usui Reiki Initiation, you will receive three attunements. Most initiations today do only one. These attunements, given by Zaki to each person individually, will open your channels so you may fully receive this energy. With three attunements, you can achieve much better results.

Second Degree Reiki is a more intensive course and qualifies the participant  to become a practitioner if desired. Many people progress to Second Degree Reiki simply for personal development purposes without any intention of practicing on the public. However the will to share the gift of Reiki is usually very strong and calls many people to practice.
