Step 1: Daily Watching
“Start being aware with day-to-day, routine actions, and while you are doing your routine actions, remain relaxed.

There is no need to be tense. When you are washing your floor, what is the need to be tense? Or when you are cooking the food, what is the need to be tense? There is not a single time in life that requires your tension. It is just your unawareness and your impatience.

ec8bacca-71ff-4f90-bbd9-006d8aa4de0eWhat are you seeking? Happiness, bliss, joy – that’s what you are seeking. You have been seeking for millennia, and you have not yet found it. It is time, the right time to think again, to meditate again. You have been seeking so hard, you have been trying so hard – perhaps you are missing just because you are trying? Maybe it is trying that keeps you away from happiness? Let us think over it, brood over it. Give a little pause to your search – recapitulate. You have been searching for many lives. You don’t remember other lives, no need – but in this life you have been searching, that will do. And you have not found it: nobody has ever found by searching, something is wrong in the very search. In the search naturally you forget yourself; you start looking everywhere, everywhere else. You look to the north and to the east and to the west and to the south, and in the sky and underneath the seas, and go on searching everywhere. The search becomes more and more desperate, because the more you search and don’t find, great anxiety arises – “Am I going to make it this time, or am I again going to miss it? More and more desperation, more and more misery, more and more madness – you go nuts. And happiness remains as far away as ever, in fact it recedes farther away from you. The more you search the less is the possibility to get it, because it is inside you. Happiness is the function of your consciousness when it is awake, unhappiness is the function of your consciousness when it is asleep. Unconsciousness is your mirror burdened with much dust and luggage and the past.  Happiness is when the burden has been dropped and the mirror is found again; your mirror can again reflect the trees and the sun and the sand and the sea and the stars. When you have again become innocent, when you again have the eyes of a child – in that clarity you are happy.

Success cannot nourish you

27I am not against success, let me remind you again, I am not saying, don’t be successful. I have nothing against it; it is perfectly good. What I am saying is don’t be motivated by it, otherwise, you will miss painting, you will miss poetry, you will miss the song that you are singing right now; and when success comes, you have only empty hands because nobody can be fulfilled by success. Success cannot nourish you; it has no nutrients in it – success is just hot air.” Osho

The first ripple of love has to rise in your heart. If it has not risen for yourself it cannot rise for anybody else, because everybody else is farther away from you.

Osho Quote On Happiness & Simply Being Yourself

11921608_748688265259248_36032609467784588_nLook at the trees, look at the birds, look at the clouds, look at the stars… and if you have eyes you will be able to see that the whole existence is joyful. Everything is simply happy. Trees are happy for no reason; they are not going to become prime ministers or presidents and they are not going to become rich and they will never have any bank balance. Look at the flowers – for no reason. It is simply unbelievable how happy flowers are.”FUNDAMENTALLY JUST HAPPY!  Remember this statement.  It is the reward of a meditative life.  It is important here to differentiate between pleasure and happiness.  Pleasure being something derived through some cause, and by happiness here meaning a state of joy without any cause.  This joyfulness naturally emerges.  It starts to flow from deep within and in it you simply rejoice and celebrate life.

Learning To Silence The Mind

The mind, says , has the potential to be enormously creative in dealing with the challenges of everyday life, and the problems of the world in which we live. The difficulty, however, is that instead of using the mind as a helpful servant we have largely allowed it to become the master of our lives. Its ambitions, belief systems, and interpretations rule our days and our nights – bringing us into conflict with minds that are different from ours, keeping us awake at night rehashing those conflicts or planning the conflicts of tomorrow, and disturbing our sleep and our dreams. If only there was a way to switch it off and give it a rest! Finding the switch that can silence the mind – not by force or performing some exotic ritual, but through understanding, watchfulness, and a healthy sense of humor – is meditation. A sharper, more relaxed and creative mind – one that can function at the peak of its unique intelligence. Osho
