Therapy & Meditation Program
A Real Solution for Physical and Mental Healing
We offer meditation and therapy for depression as one form of treatment that can be very helpful. However, you may wonder how does it work and if it is the right program of treatment for you or your loved one?
WHAT IS MEDITATION THERAPY?
Mindful meditation therapy for depression involves the practice of detaching oneself from the constant thoughts and worries that go on inside our heads. People usually accomplish this by establishing a pattern of deep-breathing while letting go of all the thoughts that enter the mind. By focusing solely on developing a breathing pattern, people with depression can experience a feeling of peace and comfort.
MEDITATION & THERAPY FOR DEPRESSION
Many people struggling with mental health conditions find themselves wondering if meditation therapy for depression works. While it is not an easy cure, it can provide many benefits for those struggling with severe depression. It can also be beneficial for those facing an additional problem with substance abuse. The following advantages can come from practicing meditation techniques:
Relieving Anxiety
Depression often co-exists with severe anxiety that interferes with many aspects of life. Meditation therapy can help a person learn to relax and comfort themselves during times of stress. As a result, people who learn these techniques often find that the severity of their depression and anxiety decreases over time.
Gaining Better Control of Emotions
Extreme mood swings can be a problem for those with substance abuse and depression problems. The regular practice of meditation techniques can promote stable moods over a period. These techniques can also help teach an individual how to deal with stress healthily.
Fighting Self-Destructive Behaviors
Mental health issues, such as depression, often accompany problems with substance abuse. Those suffering from depression often try to self-medicate through the use of alcohol or drugs. Learning meditation therapy for depression during periods of stress may help reduce a person’s tendency to participate in self-destructive behaviors.
Experiencing Greater Overall Satisfaction
Those who regularly engage in meditation therapy often report a higher degree of satisfaction with their life overall. They may experience happier relationships with others, greater success on the job, and many other benefits.
FINDING THE RIGHT HELP FOR A LOVED ONE
If you have a loved one suffering from depression and needs depression treatment or substance abuse treatment, it is normal to feel overwhelmed or frightened. Finding a quality treatment center can help your entire family begin to experience the healing you deserve.
Don’t remain under the destructive grip of an untreated addiction or mental health issue. You can learn the necessary tools to overcome these problems by getting treatment from a rehab center that cares about your success.
Intensive Therapy For Depression And Anxiety Help
We all have our anxious moments or times when we are depressed. It’s normal to feel these emotions when we are in stressful situations. Generally, this anxiety or depression goes away once conditions improve and life becomes less hectic again. For millions of people, however, anxiety or depression can drag on and on. It may get worse over time and might even start to interfere with their work, school, or relationships. When it reaches this point, it is likely that the person has an anxiety or mood disorder that requires treatment.
While about 20 million to 40 million Americans suffer from these disorders, only about a third will seek help – yet these conditions are highly treatable.
People who have depression or other mood disorders often do best with a combination of psychotherapy and medication. Anxiety help and relief comes through therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness.
An intensive therapy program includes:
Comprehensive treatment planning
Learning to recognize unhealthy behaviors
Methods and practice to aid in asking for and getting support
Learning coping strategies and skills
Building successful problem solving abilities
Follow up sessions to reinforce these new skills
If you are looking for an intensive program, be sure that whichever one you choose utilizes therapists who have been highly trained in treating anxiety and depression. Also, you want the program to be individualized to you. You should feel a connection with the therapist and they should work with you to develop a plan specifically for your needs in order to maximize the outcome of your treatment.
Who Would Benefit From Therapy?
Sometimes a person can struggle with depression or anxiety symptoms while still being able to function in their daily life. At other times, someone may need more focused therapy and support. Intensive outpatient treatment would work for both people.
Intensive therapy also benefits those who either don’t find it practical to see a therapist over several months or those who have tried traditional therapy but haven’t been as successful as they’d hoped. It also can provide rapid and effective management in someone with severe symptoms who has taken time away from work or school for their recovery.
To be most effective, those who participate in intensive therapy should:
Be sure they attend every session. This can be difficult if they are having bad days, but they will get the most benefit by coming to every appointment.
Allow themselves time to process what they are learning.
Treat themselves gently while they learn that it’s okay to make mistakes.
What is Intensive Therapy?
Some of the reasons people seek out an intensive course of therapy include:
Personal growth
To address chronic pain
To heal from traumatic experiences
To treat addictions and prevent relapse
To navigate emotions during times of transition
To restore a sense of hope after receiving difficult news
To cultivate one’s capacity for intimacy with self and others
To learn paradigms and practices to help sustain vitality and joy
By stepping away from normal routines and responsibilities, my clients are able to bring all their resources and strengths to the work at hand. Longer, concentrated block of time allows for sessions to seamlessly build upon one another, resulting in less time wasted or progress lost. And with more rapid improvement, short bursts of focused therapy might prove to be more economical than long-term treatment.
Is Intensive Therapy Right for Me?Not all clients or situations are appropriate for intensive therapy. As a solo practitioner, my intensives are designed for those who are safe and stable enough not to require inpatient care. The primary benefit of the therapy retreat is healing and resolution of problems, and I am not equipped to not offer stabilization or detox services.
While many people successfully engage in stand-alone personal retreats, intensives are not always a substitute for traditional ongoing therapy. Some people find they might require more rigorous effort at the onset of therapy and take an intensive to jumpstart the therapeutic process. This is especially helpful for clients who wish to continue working with me via secure video. Others find intensives serve as a boost when stalled or at an impasse during regular therapy. Others still choose to have regular “mini-intensives” and schedule their ongoing work in this way. Some people attend an intensive because they have a passion for self-exploration and personal growth. Instead of viewing the retreat as treatment, they see this format as a compliment to other self-development work they might be involved in. There are many reasons you might wish to consider this model, and my interview process will help to ensure that a private intensive is the right path for you.
Intensive Therapy is excellent for people who:
Prefer to progress more rapidly than a once a week format allows
Lack sufficient time to meet with a therapist weekly
Have an irregular or unpredictable schedule
Live in areas where integrative therapists/trauma specialists are unavailable
Prefer to see a therapist outside of their community
Want to thoroughly address a life challenge soon after it occurs
Seek to compliment personal transformation work already in progress
Most people will accomplish quite a lot during the retreat, but some issues or patterns are so entrenched that change can be slow. If you require more support, you have the option of returning for another retreat, following up with me in person (if local) or by phone/secure video, or you can complete your work elsewhere.
Each experience is customized, but generally includes:
Psychotherapy sessions each day
Therapeutic healing sessions
Movement and meditation experiences
Ample breaks for naps, walks, journal writing, and relaxation
“Home play” exercises for you to deepen your exploration between sessions
Not all therapy is emotionally intense or tiring, and most people are surprised to find they are not only able to work for many hours, but find it deeply satisfying to do so. While intensives can be demanding, the hope is you’ll return from the experience with a renewed sense of trust and empowerment to be your own greatest healer. If you are experiencing emotional, physical, relationship or career-related stress or distress, our meditation therapy program is for you. In this unique four-stage healing process you will evolve your emotional state to identify and release the very pain with which you struggle, and most importantly, fill the void with love, strength and empowerment.
The primary objective in meditative therapy is to induce the mind into an Alpha (resting) or theta (relaxing) brainwave state. In this state the brain’s rhythm appreciably quiets so that antibodies, and natural painkillers called endorphins, are released into the system.
Discover or develop a good health practice, reach personal, emotional and physical goals, learn and practice meditation, receive a nurturing cognitive therapy and practical strategies—even transform your diet and lifestyle according to your body’s specific needs.

This course is aimed at giving students basic tools for spiritual development. Students are given a strong foundation for embarking on a path of intuitive skills by learning a simple, effective form of meditation for grounding; visualizing and directing energy flow in the body, and establishing clear boundaries. From the very first class, students are able to apply these skills in their daily lives.
This is a practical method of meditation, using the body and its energy as a source of information for the developing spirit. Learning this form of meditation gives new meaning to the phrase, “Know thyself.”
One definition of mindfulness is to be aware of your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and actions – in the present moment – without judging yourself or your experience. This class helps you: change unhealthy coping strategies, learn techniques to calm the body/mind, practice non-judgment and radical acceptance, use visualization techniques to shift thoughts and consequent feelings, explore the purpose of emotions and develop greater mastery and develop new skills in mindful communication
Our instructors have extensive personal meditation, healing, practice and retreat experience, and years of teaching meditation to individuals and groups.
